A tall dark-green wine bottle rises from a shadowed ledge, its black wax-sealed cork and pale cream label catching a single raking light. Beside it a short goblet holds a shallow pour of deep garnet, its rim glinting, while a lone ripe orange glows cadmium-bright against the gloom. Hushed, candlelit, and contemplative, this bodegón turns simple pleasures into quiet ceremony. It anchors a dining room wall, a wine nook, or a moody kitchen.

The wine-and-fruit still life belongs to the Spanish bodegón — the humble tabletop arrangement that painters in early-1600s Seville and Toledo raised to the level of devotion. Francisco de Zurbarán and Juan Sánchez Cotán set bottles, fruit, and glassware against black grounds and lit them like scripture, finding gravity in the everyday. In the Dutch and Flemish Golden Age, masters such as Willem Kalf and Pieter Claesz answered with their own glinting wine and warm chiaroscuro, celebrating the pleasures of the table. Wine and citrus carried meaning — abundance, hospitality, the passing hour. This print draws from that same tradition, rendering a quiet tavern still life with the reverent, candlelit light of the old bodegón painters.

A Spanish bodegón wine still life printed on museum-grade archival paper, its matte finish holding the deep shadows and the glow of garnet and orange. Pair with an antique gold or dark walnut frame and a cream mat for a room with a sense of enduring history. Part of the Atrecho Art Still Life Collection — gallery wall ready.

Our Story

Atrecho Art began with an obsession: the art that lines the walls of old European estates — the devotional portraits found in the side chapels of Seville’s cathedral. We are a family-owned small business bringing that spirit home, one print at a time. Thank you for supporting independent art.
