Scores of stitched blossoms crowd a deep brick-red field — buttercream roses, marigolds, poppies, and charcoal-silhouetted leaves scattered edge to edge with barely a sliver of ground between them. The effect is folk-craft embroidery brought to the wall: warm, festive, and enveloping, its maximalist bloom-packed field glowing against the vermilion ground. Hang it in a kitchen, entryway, or reading nook where its harvest richness can wrap the room in cozy, gathered warmth.

Dense, all-over floral fields like this one descend from the crewelwork and Jacobean embroidery of 17th-century England, where wool blooms and silhouetted, scrolling leaves were worked across colored grounds by hand. The scattered-bouquet vocabulary also echoes the painted-flower folk traditions of Eastern Europe — the marigolds and roses of Hungarian and Russian peasant embroidery, and the glowing Zhostovo bouquets set against dark grounds. Two centuries later, William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement revived exactly this kind of flat, repeating millefleurs pattern, prizing the honest craft of a lived-in botanical field. This print carries that heritage of the needle and the loom — a folk-textile garland translated into archival ink for the wall.

Printed on museum-grade archival paper (200gsm) with a warm matte finish that holds the deep red ground and its stitched blooms. Pair it with a distressed dark walnut or aged gold frame and a natural linen-texture mat to lean into its heritage-textile warmth. Part of the Atrecho Art Textiles Collection — gallery wall ready, designed to live alongside Spanish Baroque prints.

Our Story

Atrecho Art began with an obsession: the art that lines the walls of old European estates — the devotional portraits found in the side chapels of Seville’s cathedral. We are a family-owned small business bringing that spirit home, one print at a time. Thank you for supporting independent art.
