A blue-and-white bowl brims with glossy black mussels, several fallen open to bare their amber flesh, beside a slate-blue crock and a heap of crusty sliced baguette on a dark table. Warm light rakes across the wet shells and golden crust against a soft plaster wall. The mood is homey and abundant — a coastal kitchen table laid for supper. It warms a kitchen, dining room, or breakfast nook.
The humble kitchen still life — the bodegón — is one of Spain's great contributions to art, treating a bowl of shellfish or a loaf of bread with the gravity other painters gave to saints. In the eighteenth century Luis Meléndez perfected the heaped tabletop of everyday fare, while the Dutch and Flemish masters made glistening seafood a specialty of the Northern Baroque. The blue-and-white ware here recalls the tin-glazed pottery of Talavera and Delft, a fixture of Old World kitchens. This print gathers that heritage — mussels, bread, and stoneware rendered with painterly relish and warm, raking light.
Printed archival quality on museum-grade 200gsm matte stock that keeps the shells' sheen wet and the bread's crust golden. Pair with a distressed walnut or wrought iron frame and a cream mat. Part of the Atrecho Art Still Life Collection — gallery wall ready.

Our Story
Atrecho Art began with an obsession: the art that lines the walls of old European estates — the devotional portraits found in the side chapels of Seville’s cathedral. We are a family-owned small business bringing that spirit home, one print at a time. Thank you for supporting independent art.
